Conversion to Hybrid Working Model
Babcock International is an old client of SA Office Interiors. This project would mark us completing over 4000sqm of office space projects for them. Babcock, being the innovative e business that they are were one of the first of our clients to adapt to the hybrid working model post covid. The brief was to move away from dedicated offices, desks and general office space entirely. They wanted to move to a more fluid hot desking, space solution.
The challenge with moving to the hybrid model is that people lose their sense of privacy, this was a point of importance for the Babcock team.
We were asked to make the spaces as flexible as possible while allowing staff to feel welcome and comfortable in the new open plan hot desking environment.
Project Details
Demolition
The old space had to be completely re-designed in a phased approach so as not to disrupt the staff that were at the office. Partitioning, flooring and ceilings were stripped out in order to make way for the new hybrid model space plan.
Look and Feel
Having done so much work in the past for Babcock, we did not have to re-create the look and feel. Instead we simply needed to carry the beautiful existing look and feel through to the new spaces.
Highlights
The highlights of this project were the breakaway and collaboration spaces that we created throughout the building. This allowed staff the freedom to take personal calls, virtual meetings or to apply themselves to individual tasks without being disrupted in the open plan environment.
